| I just finished the end of the Victor Hologram missions and had a couple of suggestions.
--VH is referred to in several ways: "The Hologram" "Victor" etc. I'm thinking it might make things a bit easier to understand if he is always referred to as "Victor Hologram" It might be a bit less confusing.
--The mission to accompany VH to the army warehouses transition in Recon is titled incorrectly. It says you are to accompany him to the Recon. He (and you) are already there...
--When referring to Maples (the scientist in Varlab), Victor Hologram calls him a she. Now I don't want to get all political but... that don't look like no girl!
Just a couple of suggestions I came up with. Now I can tear that page out of my notebook lol!

| I noticed when I did recons missions some of them are not tied to a task, I had to manually keep track of some of them, I suggest that be fixed too. | |

We are fully aware of this, and I have asked for this to be fixed as a priority. The broken missions become much more frequent later in the game. Sword2012 and myself have attempted to remedy this problem by making the dialogues easier to understand, and fixing all the broken English. However I do not have knowledge of mission scripting, and therefore require, either learning it myself (I dont have enough time), or ask Aleks and TB to look at it. If you have the time (and determination) you can learn how to write missions here... [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]However, you would then need to use this knowledge to read the mission scripting in order to modify and correct the broken missions. TB will not place anything new or modyfied into the game withput it being checked first, but you could modify your own game, then check it, and then send the modified files to TB or Aleks for verification. (you would have to do this by email).

This isn't exactly the place to ask but after experiencing quite a few crashes, it seems to me like most of the scripting is in a LUA engine. Is this correct?

You should take a look at my faults file. I played the game without using the guide (only reffering to it when I come across a problem. The file is not complete, and is written in extremely rough form (basically short hand). [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

I'm going to look through it to see if anything can be fixed, or at least ameliorated, in text it took over 100 hours of gameplay and often repeating the tasks to make sure. i was definately not mucking around!!! I have a new problem though... one which has stopped me from playing. there is no last days spwan in recon. if they dont turn up, i cannot play the mission and finish the game. According to the guide I am literaly about 97% finished the storyline.

PS: Does this go to you, or TB? Hi kd6dm. Thanks for this. The particular text file containing this dialogue is a little confusing. Do you have the next screenshots after this dialogue, please? It'd be really useful to know what happens next, and where the mix-up stops... I've never got this far in the game so I'm unfamiliar with the context, but with a few more screenshots up to the end of the dialogue with Countryman, we can make it right in the meantime It might be a while before the obfuscating dialogue itself gets fully reworked, though

| Here is my issue list cont. from the Error message thread: - Spoiler:
- When turning in the bad psi-helmet from Arhara to Dan, his dialogue contains a grammatical error: "This is interesting, your a fine fellow Marked One."
- Error in description for Pudding Artifact Recipe in Encyclopedia: "The absolute 'Pudding' artefact loses some of its radiation," This artifact does not lose radiation, radiation output is actually increased from Moonshine Dummy (+5, the Pudding is +7.)
- When turning in all 10 thermoses to General Voronin, his dialogue is not only worded poorly, but has some errors in it: "This is excellent! I Will give you the location of a cache." and "I hear there's quite a bit of loot in em" (Also no punctuation)
- The dialogue choice when denying General Voronin's quest for a computer and videolink device contains a grammatical error: "I have no love for bandits, but your better to send Ivantsov, he just sits around playing with himself, poor sap!" Not only that, but this dialogue choice also contains "Okay, deal" at the end of it even though it's a denial choice.
- The dialogue choice when accepting General Voronin's quest for a computer and videolink device contains a grammatical error: "General if I get all these pieces of garbage would you prepare for me an officer's uniform, not below colonel?" General requires a comma after it. It would also be advised to change the way it is worded to something like "General, if I collect all these pieces of garbage I want a colonel's uniform prepared for when I return."
- The quest for Arhara's notebook has no task information, and the task title is "Notebook on the subway" but Arhara says "Agroprom Underground"
- When getting Yakut's Laptop, the task says to bring the laptop to Arhara, but Yakut is the one that accepts the laptop.
- Grammatical error in Yakut's dialogue when turning in his laptop: "Arhara praised you, says your a professional"
- Multiple errors in Sidorovich dialogue when coming to him after returning Petrenko's Flask.
- When doing Lanky's fetch quest for the location of Petrenko's flask, he only takes 7 of the 10 microcircuits from Marked One.
- When asking Barman about Ghost after turning in Ghost's Diary to Kruglov/Semenov, the dialogue is poorly translated.
- After turning in the Simbion to Barman for information about Ghost, the following dialogue is poorly translated.
- Semenov's dialogue after talking to Barman and giving him a Simbion is translated poorly, to the point of being gibberish.
- When speaking to Arhara about finding a computer for the scientists, his dialogue is translated poorly.
- The detailed task information for the quest to retrieve a vice for Screw is mangled English.
- When talking to Freeman after taking the documents from the dead Monolithian in X-10, both Marked One and Freeman's dialogue is understandable, but should be fixed up a bit.
- When bringing Bland's flash drive to Freeman, the following dialogue is translated poorly
- When talking to Le Havre after bringing Freeman Bland's flash drive, his dialogue along with Marked One's dialogue is poorly translated.
- When talking to Yakut after taking Le Havre's drug, both Marked One and Yakut's dialogue is poorly translated.
- When finding a TV set for a Clear Sky member, the task calls him Chiston but his name is Grishko Narcissus.
- When bringing Cat medicine from Kalmyak, both his dialogue and Marked One's is translated poorly.
- After finding Chuck and Huck and returning to Cat, his dialogue is poorly translated: "Well, the Cat, could I get of 'language'."
- The following dialogue choice when talking to Cat is translated poorly: "There is one variant, truth muddy it is a little"
- Kruglov/Semenov's task dialogue after doing Ghost and Decoder missions is all translated poorly.
- When speaking to Ghost's Group before the Avengers spawn, the dialogue is translated poorly.

When you click on the dialog of screen 3, you get the task to shoot down the helicopter...no option to pay the 100,000 RU. All other dialogs are "See you".
This issue was in 1.10012, but not before patch 12.

I recently succeeded at this mission for the first time. The helicopter you want isn't the one in the compound. - Spoiler:
Go to the very centre of the map, in circle of generator spheres, and look directly overhead. You should see a helicopter hovering very high in the sky. I think Countryman's dialogue suggests shooting it to annoy the pilot so he comes closer, but I managed to destroy it with several quick shots from a scoped gauss rifle before it could move. This completed the task and I was able to go back to Countryman.

Ok, I read in a guide somewhere about this really high helicopter. to me this is a spawn issue which wont be fixed by TB or Aleks. My best suggestion is to change the dialogues to give the player a better clue on how to complete the mission. As for the missing option to pay 100 000ru, I had this issue in 0.0.0.4, but I am using the new dialogues for testing. It's possible that this extra option may have been disturbed by the editing process... further investigation is needed....

This issue was in 1.10012, but not before patch 12. We've not touched these dialogues before, so in this case it may be a scripting error, and we don't go near these... If we were to go by the screenshots, and transpose the lines of dialogue to fit the characters, it would create an empty line - and one of those would crash the game So in this case I'll mark the file in the appropriate places, according to the screenshots you provided, then pass it up the line to Aleks

Did you tried this task on the 110013 game version? Please send me the save before the talk with the countryman... - Steve90k wrote:

Well - the helicopter always spawn, but some players choose this task at night or when is cloudy with rain and they are expecting that they will be taking down the helicopter easily...

pchester, Thank You. Forgot about that. Actually went out in the middle, but didn't see the helicopter the first time. Knowing it was there, I looked, and there it was. BUT, sometimes when you look away, then back, it's not there. This time looked until I saw it, shot it down, and proceeded. All tasks normal after that.
But, first dialog with Countryman is scrambled in 13.

| NOTE for anyone supplying typos, or other dialogue errors to be fixed 1. If the text is already a mess, it means we haven't got around to that file yet, so there's no point in fixing a single typo within it unless it's a serious one like an NPC name 2. It is worth fixing a typo in something that's clearly in otherwise good English 3. Please provide the faulty text accurately, so we can search for it. We're good at what we do, and can often extrapolate from inaccurate data, but there's no substitute for an accurate description or a screenshot 4. Please bear in mind that we already have literally hundreds of screenshots, that we've created ourselves, to fix 5. Any dialogue error posted on this forum will be fixed, out of respect for the member reporting it. If you've taken the time to report it, we'll take the time to fix it... 6. Priority will always be given to game-breaking dialogues. If you've struggled over a dialogue before finally figuring out what it should be, please let us know. You'll be saving us time... 7. Ideally, please post dialogue/descriptions to the correct part of the forum i.e. Here - as it's not always possible to monitor every post on the forum Thank you

This could be a scripting error, as both dialogue choices exist in the text files... Thanks for pointing it out

| I'm not sure if this is a dialogue error or a game error ... so I am passing the buck ... In the Collector level, after finding - Spoiler:
Caesier's stash in East Pripyat you get the message: "Caesiers underground teleporters activated", and the stash note says "At the River Port pier is transport to Jupiter".
In previous versions, the River Pier teleport spawned on the pier next to the river and showed up as a normal transition marker, but there was no teleport and no marker in my 110013 game.
However, I found that there is a teleport from the East Pripyat "underground" below the department store, which takes you to the Secret Lab north of NPP2. One of the teleporters in there then takes you to the Jupiter underground. If this is now the intended route, the note about the river port needs changing, as the department store tunnel is at the other end of the map.

| I've just discovered that text in spoiler quotes is NOT searchable, so this is intended for whomever wrote the following "Yakut accepts the laptop to complete task. Dialogue says "Item removed: Arhara's Notebook x1" (Retrieving Arhara's notebook from Agroprom Underground was the previous task)" The phrase 'Find Arhara's notebook' as a quest item appears just once in the text files for starting and completing a quest, but is accessed twice by the game - when you search for a Diary, and then a Laptop. Which is why we changed the name to 'Notebook' to describe both items... However, thanks to your post, we've clarified the individual description of each item to 'Arhara's pocket notebook' and 'Arhara's notebook computer' | |

| As requested by Sword2012 - I reported this earlier but I didn't include a screenie. I am still not sure if this is a dialogue problem or a game issue. - Spoiler:
When MO picks up the note in Caesier's East Pripyat cache, there is an on-screen message (which is recorded in the log) which says: "Caesier's underground teleports activated." [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]There is no other message, but the note in the cache begins: "At the river port is transport to Jupiter. ..." [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]There is no teleport that I can see at the river port, However, I did find one below the Department Store in the south of the map. This takes you to the Secret Lab (where MO activates the storm machine) and a further teleport from there takes you to the Jupiter Underground close to where you need to be to continue. Either the teleport at the dock is supposed to be there and is missing (or I just haven't found it!) or the first part of the note about the river port and finding the Jupiter factory elevator needs to be changed to something like "Find the teleport below the Department Store and continue through the Secret Lab to find a way into the Jupiter Underground." The rest of the message in the note is okay.

| Task: Find the documents in the Red Forest for Fang - unnecessary task given. - Spoiler:
The Red Forest Hunters tell MO their backpack with Fang's docs was stolen. MO traces it to thief Mitya in Swamp. MO confronts Mitya, who returns the stolen backpack [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]New task given: Talk to Sidorovich [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Sidorovich tells MO he has Mitya's backpack - offers to sell it for 10k. The dialogue ends without MO buying anything (his money remains the same) [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Since Mitya has already given MO the backpack, I suggest that the Talk to Sidorovich task is removed.
