NOOB QUESTION: JUST DID A FRESH INSTALL FROM MY FILES TO ,0007. WAS WONDERING IF I CAN GO DIRECTLY TO 14 OR DO I HAVE TO GO THROUGH ALL THE UPDATES ONE BY ONE? IS THERE ONE I CAN JUMP TOO BEFOR 14?

Hi, Iceddeadmeat, and welcome to the forum!

You need to start with 1.10012, available from the download area in this forum. From there the Autoupdater will get you to 1.10014

Best to delete your old game entirely, and clean out any traces of it first

Hey dude I just installed StalkerSoup and updated it.

Am getting an error message "cannot open file fsgame.Itx"

Could you please send me the file or a link to one?

I noticed another post yet that one is dead now

Edit - there is an LTX file in there called fsgame in the main directory - so not sure what the problem is

Sorry, but we need to ask this, in order to help us answer your question and resolve your problem:

Are you using Windows 7 or 10?

What's your drive and folder path to your game installation?

Did you install your game over an earlier version of StalkerSoup, or into another STALKER game folder?

And did you follow the Installation Guide to the letter? If so, at what numbered stage of testing did you get your error message?

I found that any problems I'd had with the game in Windows 7 got carried over into Windows 10, and reinstalling the game instantly fixed a problem I'd been having with the Launcher, which was taking over a hundred clicks on 'OK' to close it  

As always, please let me know of any errors, omissions, or anything else you'd like included

Regarding migrating, I wonder if Stalkersoup will cope/work with Windows 10 Pro High End Version, particularly regarding RAM which it seems where crashes occur will be saved as with NVDIMM-M memory modules retaining up to 2tb RAM even when the PC is switched off?
Having my previous PC malfunction was a good excuse to treat myself to an i9 PC without being aware of this aspect of gaining this version of Windows which hopefully will be incorporated into Windows 11 and Stalkersoup too.
If anyone can let me know, it will perhaps help other players too. Thanks and Regards, TrueB.

Thank you for your reply, it is reassuring. Having over-fast PCs has in the past lead to skipped frames on other games, hence my concern. Your answer will I trust be of relief to many new members on first trying Stalkersoup. Regards TrueB

I have I7 and 10 pro, SS runs fine on sata3 SSD, maybe M2 SSD just too fast for single thread engine!?

Further to your reply: in my opinion, the M2 SSD was giving problems and was the version from the firm I bought it from; to counter this, replacing their drive did not work as the PC stopped functioning; but partitioning the drive did, as after installing my own Windows 10 Pro I was able to reformat theirs. Up to then, I couldn't get Stalkersoup to work on this PC. This may be helpful to any other players with new  PCs, if my opinion is correct.
Another feature is that the Nvidia graphics card uses 12gb DDR6 RAM. I don't know if this is relevant but despite approaching a transition point in the Levelup after Level 0, which on my old PC had worked okay, it now doesn't. Others do and this transition is at the other end of the map. I do hope I can find a solution since I would much rather play on a PC than a laptop. Regards and Thanks, TrueB

Hi Sword, I noticed a link to download some other items, which I think are for the PC, runtime? I should have looked at the title, and I downloaded your Guide for 1.1.0019.5b. Is 1.1.1.0019.5b an .exe file please, as I have an up to date version of 1.1.0019.5b with an exe to self unpack the Game in my drive?
If not, please advise where it can be found so I can check it off against the versions I have on my PC. In anticipation, Thanks and Best Regards TrueB.

The Installation Guide 1.10019.5b is not an exe, but a PDF

The suffix 'b' indicates that it's the second update of the Guide for version 1.10019.5 of the game

The link you used above will always take you to the latest version of the Guide. Earlier versions are deliberately not archived to avoid confusion, as they'll be obsolete

Thank you for your timely reminder, as version 1.10019.5c of the Guide has just been published. The main change is the latest version numbers of Visual C and XMA Redistributable files, as checked in July when I reinstalled my own game

Hi guys, I have a question. I currently play the mod (1.1.0019) on a Windows 7 PC which is not connected to the internet. Can I download the files and update to 1.1.0019.5 manually?


EDIT: I solved it myself. Just get the procedure from the guide. Get .0012 files and installer, Install .0012 then do the same for .0019 then get installer and install of .0019.5 and voilá. Now the question is I hope in next updates I can still manually install and not depend on internet connection.

How come the Updater and the registry patch aren't on google drive? I've already surpassed my quota and I don't exactly have money laying around that upgrades my account
