Monolith respawns

Hey so do the monolith ever stop respawning? do you have to finish the sarcophagus storyline for them to stop?

The NPP and nearby areas are the Monolithian's home ground, and for much of the game you will encounter them in the outside area south of the NPP building every time you visit. 

When you clear out the Monolithians inside the Sarcophagus building, and later those in the outside area to the north, those areas will remain clear of Monolithians for a while - but they will find their way back eventually.

Can it be disabled? Maybe in the Modder's .itx file?

I don't think so. Afaik the constant Monolith presence is intended and is hard-coded into the game. 

You can avoid most of the enemies by sticking to the fence on the left in the first area, and to the wall of the main building as you move through the main area. The only choke point is the gate, and there are usually only a few Monolithians there.

Sigh, i guess i just have to pack more ammo for the fodder .
