Hi, When I logged on, I wasn't sure where the minimum and preferred specs are for PCs to be able to play StalkerSoup are in the Forum. I looked at the Rules and Introductions section and hope this is the correct place to ask. I know my graphics are ok, but if anything needs upgrading it will help to know; please let me know where this data is viewable on the Forum please? Thanks and Regards, True

Hi TrueB

It's always useful to include your PC specs when asking a question like this, for comparison and advice

As a 32-bit game, StalkerSoup should play well on any reasonably modern computer. I play it on a five year old i5, with 16Gb RAM (8Gb of RAM would do) and a cheap GTX770 graphics card. Then you simply adjust the game's settings until it runs smoothly

There's a rough guide in here

Note that it doesn't get bogged down with specifics, as long as you have a good (though not necessarily expensive) CPU, and enough RAM to cover your Windows installation, running background programs, and the game, so 8Gb is a good figure to start with

More importantly though, is that your computer is well-configured and cared for, because the game does stress the hardware; and the smallest thing, like a microscopically loose cable or card, can throw the performance out terribly... Mad

Hi TrueB

Your PC is well-specified for the game, and even when TB and Aleks have upgraded it from 32 bit to 64 bit your PC will still last many years... cheers

What you're doing, in using a SSD for your C:\Windows drive, and another SSD for your STALKER games, is ideal

But while the game is still 32 bit you'll need to make changes to your PC for the game to cope with Windows 10, and these are documented in the 'Windows 10 Users’ Guide' section of the Installation Help Guide here

Hi Sword, thank you for your advice re specification and the document on installation esp for Windows 10 users. I will use it when the next upgrade takes place ie '18.
Regards, TrueB.
