Colonel Petrenko has vanished from the Bar...

I have just finished the "getting the gold flask" for Colonel Petrenko, having amassed all the circuit boards, Quirk artefacts and the requisite 50,000 rubles to give to Lanky, found the flask next to the checkpoint outside of the Bar, only to find out that Petrenko is nowhere to be seen.

Where he used to stand inside the Duty base at the bar I did manage to find a pristine Aria Vintorez rifle, but that's not worth as much as what I spent trying to help a brother out.

Is there a spawn code so I can get him back? I don't want to load an earlier save and go through the whole lot again because I don't know what the trigger was for him to disappear in the first place.

He may just be taking a break, or having a nap. Try leaving the Bar area and coming back later...

Do you mean the 100 RADS Bar with Barkeep or Duty Base? He is usually in the Duty Base as you enter go forward, then  go right, if he is not showing up, try carrying on past his armory down the corridor and round the corner. Sometimes he is there. Also as you enter towards where General Voronin is, try going about turn where the metal crates are, he can also sometimes be found in the green carriage. If after searching the whole base without success, try a quicksave quickload which may work. I have never seen him anywhere but Rostock. But there is quite a large area. You might try the junior scientist behind the bar. He has a NPC find service. Hopefully he has turned up by now.

EDIT: News of Petrenko. I went to look for him and he wasn't in his office so I looked round the corridor I mentioned but empty, but as I was leaving, he turned up, ran in and out of his office, all attempts to talk to him failed, so I followed and at the end of the big warehouse where a Dutyer shout to get out, he took a left turn and came to a brief halt enough to get a Duty Exo and suit for artefacts, then he started off again and I left him to it. He did not seem to have special conversation. Thanks for posting the question.
Later, I returned and he was back in his office. Sometimes later in the game, bandits attack Rostock and he did seem to have the usual defence/attack stance of friendly NPCs on alert.

I have never known Petrenko to vanish completely, but it is possible that he was spooked by an enemy wandering nearby (bandit, blind dog, even a Burer may occasionally find its way into the base...) and gave chase. In that case I wouldn't expect him to have gone far. Does he show up in your diary's Contact list? That would tell you if he is hiding somewhere nearby.

Otherwise you have the choice of waiting as Sword suggests, and hope that he reappears later, or reloading an earlier game.

If you want to find out when he disappeared, you could work back through your save games, loading each in turn and jumping back to the bar to see if he is still there. If he only disappeared recently, you might not have to replay as much as you think.

If you can send your save game to Aleks ( adoler(at)gmail.com ) with an explanation of the problem, he may be able to figure out what has gone wrong.

I managed to fix the problem by loading an earlier save-file, thankfully one that didn't leave me with too much progress to make up.

I will bear you folks' advice for a future playthrough in case Petrenko vanishes again.
