I put this here in much the same way as advice on best Windows for loading Stalkersoup onto, for any way of enhancing quality and performance, need to be gone through, prior to opening the game, each time. Further as advice is that the game works best on an internal SSD not C drive, is helpful, type of Graphics card, may also be.
I know that Stalkersoup works fine with GTX but what of RTX. At the time I bought my Asus ti, GTX reviews v RTX were still positive imo; now it seems much more difficult to buy a GTX ti than RTX eg for SLI.
Do any Stalker gamers use the eg Nvidia 1080 ti RTX for Stalkersoup, please?
Whilst, I understand about the 4gb limit on RAM for the CPU, since upgrading to an Asus Turbo GTX ti, the quality & performance of the game has definitely become smoother. Before, using an Nvidia 970 GTX, the game simply stuttered when approaching areas such as Rostock, even with pausing. Then after the GPU failed, I replaced it, but RTX were still afaik imo rare in the UK.
However, the Asus motherboard has a program to boost programs' speed of performance and the GTX as always gives the opportunity to share GPU RAM which doesn't seem to make much difference, or solely use it for GPU, which does. Then the use of Tweak II really seems to ramp up quality or performance by closing approx 26 Windows programs and presumably giving just a bit more of the 4gbs to the Game. Regardless, there is no doubt imo that CTDs are now minimal with this system. So it may be worth gamers using full GPU RAM for their GPUs only and more importantly trying any accompanying software if it harmlessly closes off Windows programs, freeing up more CPU RAM.
