GSC Game World have announced today that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is once again under development. GSC was the company responsible for the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games, culminating in Call of Pripyat in 2009, so it will be interesting to see what they do with the franchise now.

Don't get too excited, though. It isn't scheduled for release until 2021 - ten years after the game was originally cancelled - and a lot can happen in the next three years...

Well there you go 2021, that's a long way of in the scheme things, wonder were
SS will be, TB could put it on a disc or 2 and put it on the market like the other
games and make millions.....

Probably some one in GSC who is playing SS and, 'Hi boss I have an idea' suppose we
go for stalker 2, this game SS seems to be getting huge.
If you know what TB is planning best keep it under your hat, might have a problem with
the original franchise though, I expect he is fully aware of hostile activity from that direcvtion
any way, watch that space...

It is cool that SS2 is in the works but I fear it will not be the same since the original team no longer exists and the engine sounds more like fortnight style of graphics. I would be honored if they were looking at SS and would even be willing to coop with them but life is good anyway.

Right now I am testing 0017 with the new totally fixed all.spawn (thanks to Aleks1970) and so far I have only the crash entering DV the first time and Krug still messes up but does complete his tasks.

I am presently done with Yantar and next will test Warehouses and Radar, hope to release this major update in next 2 weeks and saves will still work with it.

Both Aleks and I are feverishly working on the new 64bit engine and all.spawn which will utilize DX12/14 renderers and several new features to improve the engine and add new effects to the game.
I hope to release it in early fall this year.

Its all good to here of whats in the pipe line, but as a matter of interest this major update
and then hopefully the 64bit , one wonders will my rig stand up to it all, some times it struggles
especially when there's a major conflict like when there's that attack on the bar area, I turn
every thing down to a minimum, my rig is getting old a bit like me, probably most of the issues
are caused by SS still wanting to run on 32bit on a 64 machine, but there again what do I know.

when I get done with the engine and can pre cache npc data in ram then disk access will be at a minimum and that stagger and heavy load on your pc will go away. I will also improve the auto levels to select the best render settings for the level being entered. I have also redone the weather so that you get better and faster transitions so it is not rainy all the time. I hope to get 110017 out soon which will have the final all.spawn and almost everything fixed (testing takes so much time..). I know I don't say much in the forum these days as I have been so busy but I will try to respond more often now.
