Cannot speak to Lector upon entering Swamps

When I tried to enter swamps for the first time, I could not speak to Lector at all. Tried reloading saves, reentering area, running around, all to no avail. When Lector was 'mysteriously' killed and resurrected, I could speak to him, but on beginning the quest to rescue the stalker, it would instantly self-cancel. What work-around might there be? Is this quest required for the area?

I had the same problem with Lector in my last game. Fortunately his mission is only a 'side quest', so I ignored him and went directly to the Clear Sky base (in the south west corner of the map) and everything there progressed as it should. Later when I returned to the entry hamlet I could speak to Lector and I got his mission.

likewise, after doing several other missions for him the dialogue opened back up. maybe put it in that game guide you've got? it's the first place I go to when I have a problem.

Yes, this is one of a long list of minor updates/additions that I intend to make to the walkthrough. I have been waiting for the new patch to arrive, because I know that will require a major re-write of some sections (new dialogue, extended story, fixed issues(?)...). However, as this is now likely to be delayed for the foreseeable future I will probably produce an interim update in the summer.
