Walkthroughs don't help with new Caves maps

Hi. I'm having a problem with the Caves at the very beginning. The most recent walkthrough 3.0K does not show the changes that have occurred to the Caves maps. And I am totally lost.

You're not alone, my friend. I started a new game recently and got totally lost in the Caves, despite trying to use the map (I'm not good with maps...)

My solution was to just keep going, because by this point there are no mutants left in the Caves to attack you - but those teleporting walls are a real frustration...

Eventually you'll find the Miner's alcove by sheer dumb perseverance - but quicksave before you try to go in, because the two invisible anomalies at the entrance will kill you!

Eventually you'll figure out how to get past them, and from there on your journey will become much, much easier cheers

I'm glad to learn I'm not the only one! Previously I just made a bee-line to the Miner and then dealt with the mutants on the lower level when I returned to the Caves. But that doesn't seem possible now. I ended up going into the lower level and using the climbing wall to find the Miner. That didn't change from earlier maps. But I was just wandering around until I found that wall!
