| Hi guys I can't take a Monolith photo for Maximilian. I tried many, many times from inside Sarcophagus. I cheated too, but no messages from Ghost for Pilgrim to modify the picture and in Lost Village, nothing happen. Any advice? Thanks. | |

| Hi Atana55. Taking the Monolith photo can be tricky, as you have to aim at a very small invisible target! Having tried various methods, I now find this to be the most successful... - Spoiler:
1. When you reach the ledge, make a save.
2. Having picked up the photo rifle and instructions, stand in the middle of the glowing area or back-up into the corner furthest away from the Monolith Stone.
3. Aim the rifle (without using the scope) a little above and slightly to the right of centre of the Stone. Move your aim around a little and you should find a spot where the reticle turns red. (You can use your binoculars to see the approximate location of the target if you can't find it with just the rifle.) If you hold over that spot for a couple of seconds you should see the prompt "The object in the Monolith".
4. Without moving, look through the scope and take the photo. (I only seem to be successful if I am looking through the scope when actually taking the photo.) If you are successful, you should see a spash of 'blood' from the target and receive the message: "Exposure successful, printout in progress". The photo should appear on the ledge next to you. Pick it up and wait to be teleported. Don't forget to look at it in your 'pistol' slot before giving it to Pilgrim.
5. If you don't succeed, reload and try again. (You can spawn in extra photo cartridges from the ESC+S menu, Ammunition tab, ammo_7.62x54_foto. You can then make several attempts without having to reload the game.)

| Okay, I did some testing without taking the photo and this worked for me... - Spoiler:
1. While on the ledge in the Monolith chamber, spawn in the photo (item: foto_monolit). You are teleported to Lost Village. Have a look at the photo, it has some numbers on it.
2. Talk to Pilgrim. If he has nothing to say, go to the ESC+S menu, INFO tab and click on Info Portion dialog_foto_pili. Click OK. Talk to Pilgrim again and he should have some new dialogue.
3. Wait outside for a few minutes until he calls you back. Hopefully he will now have some more dialogue and you are given the modified photo.
NB: I found that this part was a bit temperamental. I tested it several times, and on one occasion he didn't have any more to say when I returned to him. If he doesn't have any new dialogue, spawn info portion pili_poddelka_est and try again.
If he then doesn't give you the modified photo (when you inspect it, it should say "Photograph of the Monolith Stone, but with the numbers rubbed out") then spawn it in (Item: psewdofoto).
4. Return to Maximilian and he should accept the modified photo.
If you have any problems, try just spawning in the psewdofoto item and see if Maximilian will accept it without going through Pilgrim.
Good luck! | |
