What killed me here?

I was going for Yurik's Viper quest in the tunnel. Funnily enough, I remembered a bad feeling about that tunnel from when I last played 2 years ago, but I forgot why. I have no idea what kills me here, when I reloaded and went in again all I got was red radiation.

There is a patch of intense radiation in the middle of the tracks a short way into the tunnel. I think you ran straight through it and died of radiation poisoning. Try moving across to the right and follow the wall of the tunnel as soon as you pass the engine.
