I just had a talk with Sid, and this is how it seems to work...

Sid's "I need supplies" option only includes armor and weapon repair kits if you have the full Repair Kit (brown toolbox) that you get from Sid as a mission reward.

When you have the main Repair Kit, you can trade a Gravi for 3 armor repair kits (total 24 units) or a Stone Flower for 3 weapon repair kits (5 units pistol + 15 units rifle). You don't see these as inventory items, they are added directly into your repair kit. If that is already at MAX, I assume that any extra units are just lost.

He had the option to get a armor or weapon kit from the first time I spoke to him. However it does not do anything until you get the repair kit. Don't know if there should be a check flag that's not working to prevent the lines appearing.

I don't know, but it might have already been fixed. I tested it using a game from well before getting the main repair kit, and Sid didn't have any dialogue for offering the weapon or ammo kits. I then spawned in the main repair kit and Sid had the dialogue under "I need supplies...". It would certainly make sense if you can't get the parts until you have the main kit to use them.

I understand there are 2 ingame ways to get the repair kits, container:

I'm running the latest version that is publicly available (1.10018). Just loaded an old save, just after doing the cave - under supplies, field repair kits is an option.

Up until doing wishgranter I couldn't get either and knew this. After I returned to Sid, he gave my MO the box. Iirc, Sid exchanges Stoneflower artifacts for repair kits but if you have a few rifles, uniforms and.pistols spare,you can click salvage when using the box and it will, without warning.remove whatever is clicked on. Imo a save beforehand, protects against mishaps, in al such ventures.

Ok I wondered about this cause I was having the same issue I have no way to repair my armor and weapons right now cause I don't have toolbox yet either, I guess that was changed, I can't get it until I complete wish granter I guess

Not much of an issue I guess its easy to make money to buy more armor to hold me off and weapons are plentiful from enemies

Hi kd6dm, afaik stacking up on repair kits means they are kept in the toolbox. Because Sak also gives a generous double helping ie armour as well as weapon repairs for a gravi. Surely if repair kits from dealers work the same as rifles, pistols and armour, then once they made max, no more could be added, since this is the rule with guns and outfits. But it would be nice to know for sure, since my MO barters for lots of repair kits. If you had no weapons/armour then seeing whether the repair kits max out, should also stop extra being added, for whilst not seen, repair kits are physical items, just like guns. It would help if on clicking on the repair kit, in addition to the current 3 headings in salvage too, there was a button showing the number of repair kits left. Regards, TrueB

If it helps, you can change the max number of repair kits you can carry in each section - Small, Large, Armor - in the Modders Script. Lines 287-289

The defaults are 45, 55, 75, but I use 40, 60, 80 to help me remember

I also like to keep my weapons and armor in good order, so changing line 291 'max_to_repair' to around 98% helps keep them near perfect without wasting repair kits

Hi Sword, brilliant idea, I never knew they could be adjusted. Better imo to sell rifles and stock up on repair kits. And of course, it means another use of artefact collecting.
